Art of Making

The studio brings to life Lorraine's passion for experimentation and the desire to create unique handmade objects made with a focus on slow design, natural materials and function. Materials connect us to our memories. I spent my teen years in England and I collected fabrics and an eclectic mix of objects that still remind me of wonderful days spent in Yorkshire. What connects everything for me is the process, the freedom to play and the joy in experimenting. The opportunity to bring ideas and concepts to life fills me with gratitude.
I care about where a product is made and who makes it. All of my products are my designs and the materials are sourced from local suppliers. Each piece is developed from a sketch to the finished piece: a unique and handmade artwork.
Here, I will share some of my process, a peek into the studio and shots of the work and whatever else may wander in.
I hope you enjoy them and please come back to visit.
